The BIG 3-0!!

For Scott's 30th birthday we had a couples-only game night on Saturday and invited friends over to play some intense rounds of Reverse Charades and The Name Game. It was nice to chat with other adults and we all laughed a lot. It kind of felt like we were all back in high school, which is maybe a nice way to embrace being 30! We had a great turn out too--16 of us. I didn't take any pictures of the evening, but we had chocolate cake and ice cream (which was another incentive to have people over so we didn't have an entire cake to ourselves). The night was a success and everyone commented that we should do it again.

Sunday the 22nd was Scott's actual birthday and Talmage and I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for breakfast while Scott slept in. As always, Talmage was just itching for Scott to wake up and start the festivities.

Since our families and friends don't live close by, I thought it would be a fun idea for everyone write Scott a letter and he would open 30 letters throughout the day. That way, our family and friends could participate in celebrating Scott's birthday too. Everyone was so kind in what they said and tears were shed more than once by both of us. We are truly blessed with amazing people all over the world.

Of course we spent a lot of our day at church and then came home for dinner and presents. Happy 30th  Scott! We love you.
