red, white & blue we love you!

The 4th of July was full of fun festivities throughout the day. We were so lucky Scott even had the day off which was lucky!
Here's the timeline:
-Early morning neighborhood bike parade with friends and then breakfast together
-On the menu for lunch was BBQ bacon sliders with shoestring onions (delicious and not something you'd eat on a regular basis), fruit, chips & veggies.
-Mandatory afternoon nap so that everyone would survive the long day
-At dinnertime we invited the missionaries and our friends that are investigating the church. The elders thought everything was "so festive" and they especially like the Sprite that had blue and red ice cubes that Talmage helped me make. We used Powerade and Pomegranate juice. It made the Sprite taste a little fruity and was surprisingly good.
-After the Elders left, we went on the patio and did pop-its and sparklers and then had ice cream sandwiches for dessert. The 4th seems to revolve around lots of food right?!
-Then we ventured to the local firework display with glow sticks galore and walked a mile to get there. I was skeptical since Utah fireworks are so amazing, but they put on a great show. I loved seeing Talmage and Afton staring up at the sky! On the walk back to the car, T was in tears because it was hot and he was tired, but I thought he did really well for it being extremely late.
Until next year, God Bless America!!!
